“Street Smart Titone Recalls New York Roots”, was the title of a feature article in the Sun Sentinel, Ft. Lauderdale’s  Sunday edition. This article reported Anthony Titone’s very successful legal career as a Trial Lawyer and City Attorney.
“A powerful Broward lawyer”, was how the Sunshine Magazine of South Florida referred to Mr. Titone in a feature article. That article reported on one of his cases that was reported to millions of viewers who watched the “60 Minutes” national television news show.
Anthony came to Florida by way of Wall Street, working for the securities firm of Merrill Lynch as an Institutional Account Executive. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1971 he started his practice in West Broward after being appointed Assistant City Attorney of the City of Sunrise. He left that position when he was appointed City Attorney for the neighboring City of Lauderhill. His resume, shows that he also represented the Sheriff of Broward County and other governmental entities.
While representing government, Mr. Titone became involved in many complex litigations which have been reported as legal precedent in the State of Florida. In one case, which was reviewed and reported by the Florida Supreme Court, he successfully defended the City of Lauderhill and a decision was rendered that redefined the police officers’ “Bill of Rights” throughout the State of Florida.
Mr. Titone’s name has also been reported in the sports section of the Sun Sentinel. It was his good fortune to play baseball in fantasy camps held in Ft. Lauderdale by Yankee Hall of Famers, Mickey Mantel and Whitey Ford. In one feature game while playing for Mantle’s team, he singled to right field on a pitch from Whitey Ford. Then the next batter, (Mickey Mantel), hit a home run. This was the last home run ever hit by the Mick and the event was memorialized in a feature newspaper article. Anthony was quoted at great length in the article.
